National Science Week 2019 has launched!

“Maths and Science are my life and have been since I was eight or nine.”

That’s the enthusiasm The Hon Karen Andrews MP Minister for Industry, Science and Technology shared with students when launching National Science Week this morning at All Saints School on the Gold Coast.

She’s particularly excited about the future of Australian Space. “Every time you use Google Maps you are using information that has come from space!” Minister Andrews told her young audience.

Celebrity astrophysicist Prof Alan Duffy was also on hand at the launch, inspiring the audience with his low down on black holes.

There are over 2 000 events being held across the country during National Science Week. Activities will be held in museums, libraries, galleries, research institutions, universities, parks, shopping centres, childcare centres, workplace tea rooms and more!

There truly is an event for everyone – we invite all Australians to join us in this national celebration of science.

So, all systems are go! National Science Week 2019 has launched!

How will you science this National Science Week?
