Meet local environmental and community groups, learn about the issues that matter to them, and discover ways to get involved in protecting the region's unique natural environment. Visitors can enjoy a sausage sizzle and non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase or bring their own picnic to enjoy in the surrounds of Woogaroo Forest.

A free shuttle bus will operate between Springfield Central Train Station and the event.

Highlights include a live wildlife display presented by D'Aguilar Wildlife, featuring native Australian animals such as koalas, gliders, snakes and lizards, with expert handlers sharing their stories and answering questions. Visitors can also meet orphaned bats with Bats Conservation and Rescue Queensland and learn about the vital ecological roles of micro-bats and flying foxes.

Join the Ipswich Koala Protection Society to learn how to identify koala habitat, recognise koala signs in the wild and discover the best places to spot koalas across the Ipswich region. Early risers can take part in a guided dawn birdwatch walk through the forest with Springfield Lakes Nature Care.

Families can enjoy a range of children's activities, including Echidna Detective Kits, face painting, a bird nest building competition hosted by BirdLife Southern Queensland and other hands-on nature-based activities.

Throughout the day, visitors can attend expert talks on conservation and environmental topics, explore displays showcasing the flora and fauna of Woogaroo Forest, including threatened species, and learn about the ecological significance of the area and the impacts of proposed residential developments. Guided walks along the forest boundary will provide an opportunity to see affected areas firsthand.

The event will also feature original artworks inspired by Woogaroo Forest and opportunities to connect with organisations working to protect wildlife, forests and climate, both locally and beyond.

Participating organisations include Ipswich Koala Protection Society, Save Woogaroo Forest Group, BirdLife Southern Queensland, Wilderness Society, Bats Queensland, Ipswich Climate Action Group and Springfield Lakes Nature Care, with more groups to be announced.
