Talking about Marine Science

  • - (AEST)

Join us as we take you through the essential skills and strategies needed to present marine science and technology research to a wide range of audiences. We will cover fundamental principles of giving speeches, conference presentations and TED Talks, equipping budding marine science communicators with the confidence and media savvy to project messages clearly and simply.

You'll get hands-on training and practice delivering talks, preparing PowerPoint slides and illustrative material for many outlets, including in-house, local and international presentations and digital media.

Participants completing the course will acquire valuable skills, including those needed to give after-dinner talks about marine science and technology to experts and laypeople alike.

You'll receive worked examples, reference materials and background notes throughout. This course also includes a one-month follow-up period during which advice and assistance may be sought on any aspect of the course.

This marine biology workshop will be held online, via two 90-minute Zoom sessions. The first session runs from 9:30am to 11am and the second from 2pm to 3:30pm (AEST).
