Just as tiny seeds grow into thriving plants, curiosity grows into knowledge. By nurturing children's questions and encouraging exploration, we're planting the seeds of future scientists, gardeners, inventors, and environmental stewards.
Join Caitlin at Little Sprouts this National Science Week for a morning of hands-on science, creativity and nature play!
Together we'll discover the amazing science hidden inside seeds through open-ended exploration and play. Children will become little scientists as they investigate, observe, ask questions and make discoveries about the natural world.
Activities include:
-
Making seed bombs to take home.
-
Exploring a variety of seeds with magnifying glasses.
-
Discovering how seeds grow, travel and survive.
- Exploring nature through the five senses—seeing, hearing, touching, smelling and (where safe) tasting—to build a deeper connection with the natural world.
- Investigating the garden to find insects, worms and other tiny creatures that help plants thrive.
- Nature-based sensory and loose parts play.
Through play and exploration, children will learn that science starts with curiosity and that every tiny seed holds the potential for something extraordinary.
Suitable for children of all ages.
Adult supervision is required.
