Get ready to dig into the amazing world of seeds!

As part of National Science Week 2026, students at Kangaroo Ground Primary School will take part in a week-long celebration of science inspired by the school theme Seeds of Science: Nurturing Knowledge for All.

A highlight of the week will be our Science Model Competition. Students will design and build their own scientific models, exploring a science topic that interests them. Models will be displayed during Science Week, giving students the opportunity to share their ideas and learn from the work of others. Entries will be judged by a panel of Teachers and students will also vote for a People's Choice Award. Families are invited to attend a Science Showcase where they can view the models, celebrate student achievements and explore the incredible range of scientific ideas on display.

During the week, students will also participate in whole-school science activities inspired by the National Science Week theme. Through these activities, students will discover how seeds grow, spread and support life on Earth. They will explore biodiversity, sustainability and the important role plants play in ecosystems.

By combining investigation, creativity and problem-solving, this event aims to inspire curiosity, build scientific thinking and celebrate STEM learning across the entire school community.
