Seeds and Science – Exploring plants, animals and STEAM

  • Multiple Locations

What can we discover when we mix science, nature, and creativity? A whole world of hands-on fun!

During National Science Week, our library is running “Seeds and Science: Exploring Plants, Animals and STEAM” — a series of exciting activities for children, families, and young people. These activities are included within our regular library programs, making it easy for everyone to join in.

Across the week, participants can explore science in fun and interactive ways through our regular library programs. Children might look at tiny details under microscopes, try coding robots, explore virtual reality, take part in sensory play, and enjoy craft activities inspired by plants and animals.

All activities are designed to be fun, inclusive, and hands-on, helping children learn through play and discovery. Families are encouraged to take part together, so parents and carers can learn alongside their children and continue exploring science at home.

This program helps children see science as something that grows with curiosity — like seeds of ideas that can be nurtured, explored, and shared through learning and discovery.
