RMIT Women in STEM Conference 2026

The RMIT Women in STEM Conference is designed to provide students and staff at RMIT a chance to connect and engage with various aspects of STEM. Join the conference on Wednesday 12th August 2026 at RMIT City Campus (Megaflex 008.04.013) or virtually via Microsoft Teams hosted by the College of Vocational Education.


This interactive conference will explore the National Science Week schools theme Seeds of science: Nurturing knowledge for all. There will be practical activities, speakers, and industry experts.


This event centres on inspiring and empowering students through visibility, storytelling, and real-world advice. We aim to spotlight pathways, challenges, and successes for women and gender-diverse individuals in STEM. Your participation helps us make these futures more visible and tangible. Students will have the opportunity to connect with alumnae, explore their own STEM superpowers and enjoy a free lunch. 


You can join for some or all of the conference. Register to secure your spot.

Session 1

  • 9:30-10am (hybrid) Welcome and keynote address.
  • 10-11am (hybrid) Interactive panel discussion. Ask questions, learn where they’ve taken their career and hear their advice.
  • 11-11:20am (in-person only) Catered morning tea.

Session 2

  • 11:20am-12:30pm (in-person only) Participate in one of our practical STEM workshops.

Lunch

  • 12:30-1:30pm (in-person only) Join us for a catered lunch, Women in STEM VE and networking.


If you are unwell on the day, please stay home and join us online.

 

The conference is designed primarily for current and past RMIT VE students however is open to RMIT students and staff of all genders who support gender equity in STEM. Register early to secure your place. If you have any questions, please email stem.women@rmit.edu.au.
