The Young STEM Expo is a free, hands-on STEM showcase designed for students and teachers in Years 5 to 8. Hosted at CQUniversity’s STEM Central, this exciting student-led immersion experience invites participants to explore the world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics through interactive exhibits, challenges and demonstrations facilitated by Trinity College student leaders.
Students will rotate through a range of engaging STEM stations featuring robotics, coding, engineering design and scientific investigation. Activities may include programming robots, experimenting with electronics, designing engineering challenges, exploring digital microscopes and discovering emerging technologies. Teachers will gain practical ideas and inspiration for integrating STEM learning into their classrooms while exploring the resources and opportunities available through STEM Central.
The expo aims to inspire curiosity, creativity, problem-solving and innovation while showcasing the exciting technologies and equipment available to schools through STEM Central. The peer-led format allows students to learn from fellow students in a dynamic and supportive environment, creating an authentic and engaging learning experience.
Whether you're a budding engineer, future scientist, aspiring coder or simply curious about how things work, the Young STEM Expo offers an exciting opportunity to discover, create and explore STEM in action.
