Pages of Progress - Inside the archives of the Women in Science Enquiry Network (WISENET)

  • - (AEST)
  • Bookplate, National Library of Australia
Parkes Place, Canberra, ACT 2600, Australia

Join WISENET’s Dr Frances Michaelis at the National Library of Australia. This tour is designed especially for science communicators to explore the rich history of WISENET.

This network was initiated by a group of women in Canberra, mostly from the Australian National University (ANU) and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), which blossomed into an Australia-wide network of groups with similar interests.

Meet at Bookplate for a noon lunch, then tour the WISENET archive, exploring journals and intriguing ephemera revealing how women in science across Australia connected, communicated and campaigned for equity from the mid-80s to 2000s.
