The ocean is full of things both human-made, and natural. Find out about how some of these things move.
At the Maritime Museum, we have boats… lots of boats! But not all boats move in the same way; some use wind, others have an engine.
Dive a little deeper and we’ll explore life under the surface. From plankton to squid, movement is a vital part of life for most living things. What does the movement of fish have in common with a modern submarine? How does the temperature of water affect the movement of boats and aquatic animals?
Each student (or group of students, up to 4 students per group is recommended) will need a printout of this worksheet. Students will also need scissors.
In this jampacked hour of live demonstrations, find out about anything and everything* that moves in the ocean!
*well not quite EVERYTHING…
This session will start at 2pm for all states observing Australian Eastern Standard Time (NSW, ACT, Qld, Vic & Tas), 1.30pm for Schools in SA and NT and 12pm for WA.
