The University of Melbourne is pleased to host the Melbourne event of Mission Possible: The Stories of Us at the Melbourne's Parkville campus during the visit of a Japanese delegation to Australia. Supported by the Australian Space Agency, this event forms part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the Australia-Japan Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation.

JOIN US for this opportunity to celebrate the strong and growing partnership between Australia and Japan in space science, exploration, education, and innovation, and start the celebration of National Science Week Australia a few days!

Professor Masaki Fujimoto, Director General of the JAXA Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS) will discuss with us the agency’s work and priorities, including high-profile areas such as planetary defence, and explain the importance that space research has for humanity.

Professor Fujimoto’s seminar will be accompanied by discussion of the research partnership, and Collaborative PhD Program between JAXA, University of Tokyo and University of Melbourne, including its very own Space Curation Camp, our joint efforts in an International Outreach Program, and a global engagement discussion by AXIOM Space.

A complementary Networking Event will take place directly following the session for interested attendees to meet with Professor Fujimoto and others involved in the public event.
