The GreenSTEM Ignite Fair continues and expands the proud legacy of the Burnie Science Fair, building on previous iterations including the BIG Science Fair and the University of Tasmania Science & Engineering Investigation Awards.

As Tasmania's only in-person STEM fair of its kind, students from across the state showcase outstanding projects in:

• Science Research Investigations
• Engineering Projects
• Technology Enhances the Arts (Creative Technologies)

The 2026 event also introduces a new Traditional Knowledges award category in partnership with DeadlyScience, recognising the importance of First Nations knowledge and innovation within STEM.

Beyond presenting their own projects, students will engage with a vibrant STEM showcase featuring interactive exhibits, challenges and career pathways, including:
