Family Science Day returns to Hive as part of National Science Week 2026, bringing together a full day of hands-on science, interactive exhibits, live presentations, planetarium shows and opportunities to meet Tasmanian scientists.
Inspired by this year's National Science Week school theme, Seeds of Science: Nurturing Knowledge for All, the program invites curious minds of all ages to explore, experiment, discover and ask questions about the world around us.
The Science Centre will be transformed into a hub of discovery, featuring interactive pop-up stalls from scientists, researchers and science organisations from across Tasmania.
Meet the Young Tassie Scientists and get hands-on with activities inspired by their research and areas of expertise. From the natural world to cutting-edge science, there will be plenty to explore, create and discover.

1pm – Tilt (all ages)

3pm – The Universe Through All the Senses (ages 5+)
