Hey citizen scientists, it's Dani here — and it's time to get ready to feel the fizz.

National Science Week is almost here, and The Citizen Science Show is packing up our microphones and heading to the Hunter Science Festival at Newcastle Museum on Sunday 23 August.

This is a free, family-friendly day bursting with science, wonder, and hands-on fun for the whole family. It's part of Inspiring Australia NSW, supported by the Australian Government, and brought to life by the Hunter Innovation and Science Hub together with the City of Newcastle.

Wander through dozens of stalls and meet real scientists doing amazing things, like:

  • The Hunter Astronomical Society (hello, space fans)
  • The Australian Native Bee Association (buzzing with fun facts)
  • The Australian Institute of Physics
  • HMRI's famous Poo Palace (yes, it's exactly what it sounds like — and it's brilliant)
  • Hunter Water
  • The Geological Society of Australia
  • ...and so many more!

And guess what? We'll be there too! The Citizen Science Show is setting up our very own pop-up podcasting booth, recording live on the day. Come say hi, share your science stories, and maybe even end up on the show!

So mark your calendars, grab your family and friends, and come explore, ask questions, and discover just how exciting science can be. See you there!
