National Science Week’s iconic Brain Break program is back for 2026.
Brain Breaks offer activities that can be done easily in schools and workplaces during morning tea… think Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, but science themed!
Over 150,000 Australians participated in Brain Breaks in 2025. After collecting feedback, we’ve decided to expand the program this year, with a greater focus on trivia questions (as these proved to be the most popular components of Brain Break kits). Brain Breaks will be delivered entirely digitally this year, which meany you can access resources whenever you need them. We’ll have over double the number of questions this year (80 in total), targeted at a wider range of age groups (from lower-primary students through to adults), plus a super special ‘Sounds of Science’ audio-question round.
You can register to hold a Brain Break here. The questions will be ready to access in June. You might like to pair the questions with a DIY Science Activity, or a SCINEMA screening, to make an even bigger National Science Week event.
