Do you want to experience what it is like to work in environmental conservation? Wildlife Wonders, in collaboration with the Conservation Ecology Centre, is hosting a full-day program for Year 10 students to connect with the incredible ecosystems of the Otways and engage with real-world conservation science.

During this immersive experience, students will build their understanding of local biodiversity while taking part in hands-on conservation activities used to protect and restore native habitats. They will learn about ecological interactions, wildlife monitoring and habitat restoration, and the important role science plays in protecting Australia’s natural environments.

Throughout the day, students will meet members of the Conservation Ecology Centre team and gain insight into careers in conservation science. They will also have the opportunity to use field equipment such as camera traps and other wildlife monitoring tools, discovering how scientists collect data to study and protect native species.

Lunch and afternoon tea will be provided, allowing time to relax and reflect while continuing conversations with conservation staff and like-minded students.

This unique one-day program offers students an authentic glimpse into the science, technology and teamwork involved in environmental conservation.
