Nestled in the heart of the Otways along the spectacular Great Ocean Road, Wildlife Wonders offers a rare glimpse into a thriving natural world where native wildlife roams freely—safe from introduced predators and surrounded by protected habitats.
Guided by an ecological conservationist, the experience invites you to see science as something living and growing all around you. As you wander through eucalypt woodlands, cool fern gullies and coastal grasslands, you’ll discover how curiosity and careful observation plant the seeds of understanding.
From tracks in the soil to birdsong in the canopy, and the quiet workings of fungi beneath your feet, each discovery builds knowledge that connects people to place and science to everyday life.
At our onsite Research Base, discover how scientists from the Conservation Ecology Centre nurture ideas into evidence-based action—protecting and restoring threatened species while working toward healthy, resilient ecosystems across the Otways. Their research shows how science is dynamic, an everchanging process where questions are explored, findings are shared, and knowledge grows stronger over time.
Wildlife Wonders is engaging, educational, and uniquely inspiring—what better way to celebrate National Science Week 2026 than by planting the seeds of science, growing understanding, and empowering everyone to take part in nurturing knowledge for all?
Just for National Science Week, every child (including students) can explore the wonders of the Otways for free (with a paying adult) on our Walk with Wildlife experience.
Wildlife Wonders is a social enterprise, and 100% of profits are invested in conservation and research.
