Step inside Urban Green Sydney’s underground hydroponic farm in Barangaroo and discover how food can be grown in the heart of the city. You'll explore different hydroponic systems, learn how light, water, nutrients and growing media affect plant growth, and see how urban farming can help address food security, sustainability and climate challenges.
This tour will combine real-world STEM learning with hands-on activities, giving you a practical understanding of how science and technology are shaping the future of food. Included in each tour is a hands-on planting activity, where you’ll take home your own cup of microgreens to keep growing, plus a tasting table featuring a wide range of specialty microgreens usually reserved for some of Sydney’s top restaurants. You'll also have the opportunity to purchase products straight off the shelves.
