Frogs are vital sentinels of our ecosystem. As Dr Viviana Gonzalez-Astudillo from The University of Queensland notes, "Frogs have very close contact with our ecosystems, so if something happens to them it means something is wrong in the environment and we... need to pay attention to that."

When native frogs are sick, our environment is speaking directly to us. Right now, they urgently need our help.

Since 1998, Frog Safe Inc. has operated what we believe is the world's first dedicated 'Frog Hospital'. Founded by Deborah Pergolotti, our rescue service is on the front lines of amphibian health and disease surveillance. From treating injuries caused by predators to investigating an alarming rise in tumorous growths affecting local white-lipped and green tree frogs, we are dedicated to protecting these precious creatures.

At the National Science Week launch in Cairns, you will have the opportunity to:

• Learn About Research: Discover how we collaborate with top scientists to uncover the causes of mysterious frog tumours.
• Understand Bioindicators: Find out why frog health directly impacts the broader food chain.
• Find Out How You Can Help: Learn what to do if you spot a sick frog, how to create a safe garden, and support our ongoing rescue efforts.

The decline in frog populations is a critical issue, but everyone can help. Come speak with our volunteer team to learn about our rehabilitation successes and ways to contribute.
