The Science expedition will take place over a week and will turn our Students into Scientists with a focus on Seeds! Challenging group rotations will involve scientific observations and investigations including:
1. 'Aerodynamics of seed dispersal' - models will be designed and created to mimic seeds being dispersed for successful travel off our second level building!
2. 'Seeds in our diet' - let's discover what seeds we eat, where seeds come from and the benefits of seeds. We will make observations on
seeds and grains, as well as plant a variety of seeds in greenhouses set up in each classroom.
3. 'Uncovering phototropism and gravitropism experiments' - Let's explore how seeds grow and how they 'sense' various
environmental stimulii. we will see if we can trick them along the way by playing with physics!
4. Exploring ‘native seed adaptations’ with in our local bushland - planned bush walk - take photo of seeds and research their
adaptations. they will compare these seeds to other seeds.
