Seeds of Science: Plant an Idea, Grow a Discovery!

Every amazing discovery starts with a small idea—just like a tiny seed can grow into something incredible! This National Science Week, students are invited to get hands-on with science through fun, creative activities that celebrate curiosity and the wonders of the natural world.

Students can choose from three exciting STEM activities:

  • Seed Bombs – Create your own seed bomb to take home and help flowers grow for bees, butterflies and other pollinators.
  • Cress Growing Tubs – Plant and care for fast-growing cress while learning what plants need to survive and thrive.
  • Growing Crystals – Discover how crystals form by growing your own colourful crystals and observing the science behind them.

Each activity encourages students to investigate, observe and think like scientists while making something they can take home.

To keep the excitement going throughout the week, our senior students will also take part in a Daily Science Trivia Challenge. Each day, students can test their science knowledge with fun and challenging questions covering space, biology, chemistry, physics and famous scientific discoveries. There will be prizes for the top trivia champions!

We will also have a special Science Week Assembly - promoting science.

National Science Week is all about asking questions, trying new ideas and discovering how science helps us understand the world around us. Whether you're growing plants, creating crystals or competing in trivia, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Join us as we celebrate Science Week by planting the seeds of curiosity and growing the scientists, engineers and innovators of tomorrow!
