Get ready to become a science detective! Step inside our exciting Science Museum and follow clues, crack mysteries and uncover amazing discoveries as you explore the world around you.
Seeds of Science: Curiosity, Clues and Collections is an interactive Science Week event designed to spark curiosity and inspire young minds. Students will journey through a series of hands-on exhibition zones transformed into a science museum filled with challenges, experiments and fascinating displays.
Armed with their own Seed Pod Card, each student will begin their adventure with a science question, an interesting fact and a clue leading them to their first exhibit. As they investigate each zone, they will make observations, answer questions, solve problems and collect stamps or responses that showcase their discoveries.
Students will explore topics including local plants and animals, habitats and plant growth, the chemistry behind everyday changes, forces and energy, digital technologies, Earth and space science. Along the way, they might build simple circuits, test balloon-powered cars, experiment with pulleys and levers, play coding and Makey Makey games, decode binary messages and investigate our solar system.
The event encourages students to think like scientists by asking questions, working together and using evidence to solve problems. It celebrates creativity, communication and curiosity while helping students connect classroom learning with the real world.
At the end of their journey, students return to the central hub to receive a special Science Seed Badge, recognising them as official explorers of discovery.
Join us as we plant the seeds of knowledge and grow the scientists, innovators and problem-solvers of the future!
