Northern Beaches State High School Meranti Street, Deeragun, QLD 4818, Australia
As part of National Science Week, our STEM IXL students will take the lead in delivering an engaging and interactive Science Fair that celebrates innovation, inquiry and scientific thinking across our school community.
Throughout the year, students involved in the STEM IXL program have participated in a range of hands-on investigations, design challenges and extension activities. This event provides an opportunity for students to showcase their learning journey through displays, demonstrations and interactive exhibits developed from their experiences within the program.
A key feature of the event will be the leadership and mentorship provided by our STEM IXL students. They will design and facilitate engaging activities for visiting primary school students and community members, encouraging hands-on participation and fostering curiosity about science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Through these interactions, STEM IXL students will develop valuable communication and leadership skills while inspiring younger students to explore STEM concepts in a fun and meaningful way.
Visitors will have the opportunity to engage with student-led experiments, engineering challenges and scientific investigations, while learning about the real-world applications of STEM. Student entries and displays will highlight the creativity, problem-solving and critical thinking developed through participation in the STEM IXL program throughout the year.
The event will conclude with a celebration of student achievement, recognising the dedication, innovation and leadership demonstrated by our STEM IXL students while strengthening connections between schools and promoting a passion for STEM learning within the wider community.
