Deep beneath the school, scientists were developing a special seed designed to help plants grow faster and stronger. But during a routine experiment, the seed absorbed too much energy and transformed into a giant super-plant! Overnight, enormous vines burst through the laboratory walls, giant flowers blocked the exits, and twisting roots wrapped around important equipment. The lab is now completely overgrown, and the only way out is to uncover the plant's weaknesses by completing a series of scientific challenges. As you solve experiments and collect clues, you will earn the codes needed to unlock the laboratory doors and escape before the plant seals the lab up forever. Can you use your scientific skills to stop the runaway plant and save the lab?
Mount Erin College’s Community Science Night, held annually during Science Week, is a student-led initiative designed to improve STEM learning outcomes through hands-on, engaging experiences. Delivered as an “escape the room” challenge, primary-aged participants complete a series of experiments that develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills while reinforcing key scientific concepts in an accessible, memorable way.
