Our wetlands are alive, but you can't see everything with the naked eye!

Join us to explore the mighty world of macroinvertebrates, the tiny little "water bugs" that make Piesse Lake their home. Get up close with microscopes and magnifying glasses, scoop nets and gumboots, and help Katanning Landcare identify what lies beneath the surface of our local wetland.

We'll be set up alongside the carpark at the Piesse Lakeside Eco Centre and invite everyone in our community - young and old, short and tall - to join us for a fascinating afternoon checking out the local macroinvertebrates.

Help us take samples from the rehabilitated wetland, be astonished at seeing these fascinating creatures under the microscope and use a simple visual identification key to help name and record our findings. Come and go as you please, stay for 10 minutes or the whole session.
