Jingili Primary School Annual Science Expo & Science Fair Extravaganza (2026) A Legacy of Scientific Curiosity, Excellence, and Student Empowerment For the last 13 years, the Jingili Science Expo has stood as a cornerstone of our school culture—cultivating curiosity, inspiring innovation, and embedding a deep and enduring love of science across generations of learners. More than an event, it is a celebrated tradition that continues to transform how students see themselves: as thinkers, investigators, and emerging scientists. In 2026, Jingili Primary School proudly presents two signature science events: • Jingili Science Expo – 30th July, 2026. • Science Fair Extravaganza – 19th August, 2026 (National Science Week) Together, these immersive experiences represent the pinnacle of our STEM engagement, offering rich, authentic, and hands-on learning that connects scientific understanding to the real world in powerful and meaningful ways. Jingili Science Expo – Igniting Curiosity Through Real-World Science The Jingili Science Expo is a highly anticipated, whole-school event that brings science to life through direct engagement with real-world scientists, innovators, and STEM professionals. From Preschool to Year 6, students are invited into a world of wonder where science is not only observed—but experienced. Through interactive, inquiry-based stations, students are challenged to think deeply, ask questions, and explore scientific phenomena through hands-on investigation. Each experience is intentionally designed to spark curiosity and promote the core processes of scientific thinking—predicting, testing, observing, and reasoning. This event plays a vital role in strengthening students’ understanding of how science operates beyond the classroom, demonstrating its relevance in everyday life and across a range of real-world contexts. It fosters intellectual engagement, builds confidence in scientific reasoning, and inspires students to see science as accessible, exciting, and meaningful. Science Fair Extravaganza – Students as Scientists, Leaders, and Innovators Held during National Science Week, the Science Fair Extravaganza transforms Jingili Primary School into a dynamic, interactive celebration of student-driven discovery. In this powerful showcase of learning, students step into the role of “Science Experts”, confidently presenting and explaining their own investigations to peers, younger students, teachers, and families. This authentic platform positions students not as passive learners, but as capable communicators of scientific knowledge. The outdoor learning environment is transformed into a vibrant science exhibition, featuring student-led stations across the disciplines of: • Biology • Chemistry • Earth and Space Science • Physics Each exhibit reflects the scientific process in action—questioning, investigating, analysing, and communicating findings with purpose and clarity. Students develop essential 21st-century capabilities including critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and scientific communication. A Commitment to STEM Excellence and Future-Focused Learning Together, the Science Expo and Science Fair Extravaganza reflect Jingili Primary School’s strong commitment to high-impact STEM and STEAM education. These events are carefully designed to nurture curiosity, deepen conceptual understanding, and develop the scientific capabilities required for future learning and life beyond school. By engaging students in authentic scientific experiences, we are not only teaching science—we are building confidence, wonder, and a lifelong passion for discovery. At Jingili, science is not confined to a textbook. It is experienced, explored, and celebrated.
