Join the Merri Creek Management Committee on a guided walk together through one section of the 400-hectare galgi ngarrk Parklands (meaning backbone in Woi-wurrung). guling is a short, windy local season around August. We’ll explore some scientific and cultural aspects to do with plant ecology, cool burning for regeneration and vital plant-animal interrelationships.

Enjoy the gorgeous wild grasslands and visit Merri Creek, some stony knolls, and ancient be-al (Red River gums). This activity involves staying close as a group and walking in very uneven stony basalt grasslands. Please wear gaiters, boots and long pants.

This event is free; however, bookings are essential. No dogs please. Suitable for 8 years+. Children must be supervised at all times. Dress for the weather. Light snack provided. BYO water.
