Step Inside the Brain. Experience the Science. Play the Game.

Ever wondered what happens inside your brain when you're under pressure?

Brains, Boots & Beyond VR is an exciting new National Science Week experience that combines immersive virtual reality, neuroscience and rugby league to reveal the science behind the decisions we make.

Choose to become Western Clydesdales players Georgina or Woody and experience the game from their perspective. As you progress through different stages of match day, you'll make choices that influence your journey while discovering how your brain responds to focus, teamwork, resilience and recovery.

Travel through an immersive virtual world where science comes alive. Explore how the brain prepares for performance, reacts to pressure, works with teammates and recovers after the game. Every decision shapes your experience, helping you understand the powerful connection between the brain, behaviour and performance. The experience explores the roles of focus, resilience, teamwork and recovery through interactive sporting scenarios grounded in neuroscience and sports psychology.

Created through a partnership between Concinnity, the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) and the Western Clydesdales, Brains, Boots & Beyond VR showcases how local collaboration can transform complex science into an engaging community experience.

Whether you're interested in sport, science, technology or simply trying something new, this free experience offers a unique opportunity to see the brain in action through cutting-edge virtual reality.

Suitable for ages 10 years and over. Some reading is required throughout the experience, making it best suited to older children, teenagers and adults.

Come and discover the science behind every decision—and experience rugby league from the inside out.
