Biodiversity Collage Brisbane - Lunch and Learn

  • - (AEST)
  • The Precinct
315 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley, QLD 4006, Australia

Join People For Nature for a Biodiversity Collage workshop— an opportunity to deepen your understanding of the living world we are part of and explore how our actions shape the future of wildlife and ecosystems.

In this engaging and collaborative in-person session, you’ll explore what biodiversity really is, why it matters for wildlife and people alike, and what is driving its rapid decline. Together, we’ll reflect on solutions and actions that can help protect and restore life on Earth.

Whether you’re new to biodiversity or already deeply involved, you’ll leave with a clearer big-picture and a renewed sense of connection and agency.

To date, over ninety thousand people worldwide have taken part in the Biodiversity Collage. Are you ready to join the conversation?

This is a lunch and learn session — please BYO lunch and drink.

What is the Biodiversity Collage?

The Biodiversity Collage is a science-based, participatory workshop that helps people understand the causes and consequences of biodiversity loss — and how this connects our economies and our everyday choices.

The workshop is grounded in robust scientific sources, including IPBES and peer-reviewed research, and creates a shared, accessible understanding through dialogue and collective learning.

Who is this workshop for?

  • New to biodiversity? This is one of the best three hours you can spend building a clear, big-picture understanding.
  • Already well-informed? You’ll discover a powerful methodology to engage and empower others in your workplace or community.
  • Open to anyone aged 14 and over. We use a different format for younger audiences.

No prior knowledge is required — just curiosity and openness.

How does the workshop work?

Using a collaborative card game, each card represents an element of biodiversity and the pressures it faces.

Guided by a trained facilitator, participants work together to:

  • Explore ecosystems and the species that depend on them
  • Identify drivers of biodiversity loss and their impacts
  • Reveal connections between nature and human activity
  • Build a shared visual “collage” that brings the big picture to life

The session concludes with a creative and reflective discussion on solutions and actions at local and global scales.
