Have you ever wondered what life would be like without bees? These tiny creatures do a huge job in keeping our world growing, healthy, and full of food. In this exciting National Science Week event, students will step into the world of bees and discover how important they really are.

Our “Bee Inspired with STEM” session will explore sustainability through the amazing world of bees and how they help our environment survive and thrive. The session will be led by Messines Bee Farm, who will guide students through the role bees play as pollinators - helping plants grow fruits, vegetables, and seeds that we all depend on every day.

Students will also learn what sustainability means and why it is important to look after natural resources, so they last into the future. They will discover how bees make beeswax, how it is used, and how humans can use it in a safe and sustainable way.

This will be a very hands-on and interactive experience. Students will take part in fun workshops where they can make their own beeswax candles and beeswax wraps. These activities help students learn by doing, making science real, creative, and easy to understand.

The session will include sensory learning, group discussion, and creative making activities designed to engage students in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and maths) while also building their understanding of the environment and sustainability.

By the end of the event, students will have a better understanding of how important bees are, how sustainability works in everyday life, and how small actions can help protect our planet for the future.
