Mt Martha Observatory is the dark sky home of the Mornington Peninsula Astronomical Society in south eastern Victoria. The site is mobility-friendly with concrete paths throughout, no steps, and instruments to suit all.

The registered observatory site has an auditorium lecture theatre, library and gallery, a battery of telescopes under the primary roll-off roof facility, a computer-controlled 36 cm Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope, a 15 cm refractor, 58 cm Newtonian, solar telescope, high accuracy sundial, and other instruments used in a secondary dome observatory and around the site.

The Society hosts special incursion events, educational talks and regular public, school and Scout/Girl Guide stargazing nights throughout the year at the observatory, and across the wider region as excursion events by request.

Admission fees apply. Booking essential.

Note: due to being nestled within the Briars Historic Park, the Park Rangers do not permit domestic animals to accompany visitors at any time.
