Gullen Range Wind and Solar Farm Tours

The Gullen Range Wind Farm near Crookwell features 73 turbines, each with a capacity of 1.5 MW or 2.5 MW. The towers on the larger 2.5 MW turbines are 80 m high, with blades 50 m long. They produce electricity in wind blowing from 3 – 25 m/s, and produce their rated power from wind blowing at or above 12 m/s (43 km/h).

The nearby solar farm opened in 2017 and has 42,000 solar panels rated at 10 MW. The array produces about 22 GWh of electricity per year, enough for 3,100 homes.

Bookings are required for these occasional 2.5 hour tours. Meet at the Criterion Hotel in Crookwell for the tour mini bus to pick you up.
