Five embassies in Canberra are organising a Science Movie Festival to celebrate the importance of sharing and coordinating research across the world to foster innovative approaches of science. This event brings together the embassies of France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland and Italy, along with the EU Delegation in Australia and the ANU.
On Wednesday night, the theme is Neuroscience and Psychiatry.
The evening will start with a conversation between two experts in neurosciences and psychiatry, followed by the documentary Ramón y Cajal: Drawings on the Retina. It's presented in Spanish, with English subtitles.
This 90-min documentary offers a look at the legacy of Nobel laureate Santiago Ramón y Cajal, exploring the close connection between his passion for photographic imagery and his ground-breaking scientific discoveries about how the brain works.
