Join us for a special Australian premiere of the documentary 'Ramon y Cajal: Drawings in the retina'.

This documentary offers a look at the legacy of Nobel laureate Santiago Ramón y Cajal, exploring the close connection between his passion for photographic imagery and his ground-breaking scientific discoveries about how the brain works. With historical rigor and artistic sensitivity, the work highlights both his scientific achievements and his creative process, portraying him as a scientist, artist, and visionary.

Before the viewing, Prof John Bekkers (Head of the Eccles Institute of Neuroscience, ANU) and Prof Luis Salvador-Carulla (Deputy Director of the Health Research Institute, University of Canberra) will share their insights on how Ramón y Cajal’s work still resonates in modern neuroscience.
