Join the Merri Creek Mangement Committee for a walk, talk and weed in guling season (August). We’ll visit six renewed patches of indigenous habitat between Warrk-warrk (nimble) Bridge and Woolton Ave in Northcote that have had 18 months of Green Links conservation work from volunteers, Darebin City Council, Friends of Merri Creek and MCMC.
We’ll note the science that drives decisions such as seasons to plant, the role of cool burns and smoke for plant germination, and fascinating interrelationships between indigenous plants, animals, insects and soils.
This is a free event; however, bookings are essential. No dogs please. Suitable for 8 years+. Children must be supervised at all times. Dress for the weather. Light snack afterwards. All gear supplied. All welcome.
