Get ready to grow, build, discover and explore!
Join us at Murgon State High School for two exciting STEM Gala Days where Year 5 and 6 students from our local small primary schools will become scientists, engineers and problem-solvers for the day. Through four fun, hands-on 45-minute workshops, students will investigate the amazing world of plants and discover how science helps us understand and care for our environment. They will create their own mini terrarium to learn how ecosystems work, explore colourful plant pigments and see how they change with different pH levels, carefully dissect flowers and seeds to uncover the structures that help plants reproduce, and put their engineering skills to the test by designing and building a seed launcher. Every activity is designed to spark curiosity, encourage teamwork and inspire students to ask questions, test ideas and think creatively. Aligned with the National Science Week theme, these STEM Gala Days provide an exciting opportunity for students to experience real-world science in a fun and supportive high school setting while building confidence, making new friends and discovering just how exciting STEM can be.
