Join Canberra Seed Savers for a Seedy Saturday: an afternoon of hands-on, practical seed saving fun! You don’t need any experience or knowledge to join in, just come along. Seedy Saturdays are a great opportunity to learn more about seeds and the practical techniques of seed saving, to chat to experienced seed savers and backyard food growers and to enjoy a relaxed and friendly community event at the beautiful Canberra City Farm. 

Seedy Saturdays are the Canberra Seed Savers’ volunteer working bees where we clean, process and sort donated seeds which are then distributed to our network of Canberra gardeners. We welcome all contributions. Come for half an hour or for the full two-hour session. Everyone is welcome. This is a kid- friendly event.

Canberra Seed Savers is a network of urban food growers and local farmers working cooperatively to protect our abundant, common heritage of open-pollinated food seeds. We swap and share seeds, learn and teach about seed growing and saving, and together build a resilient community seed sharing network – a ‘living seed bank’. We welcome you to join us and be part of the local network of seed savers, growers and guardians. Seeds are life. Seed saving is for everyone.
