Design a rescue robot for the chance to win great prizes

This National Science Week, young people are invited to become CSIRO robotics engineers and take on the CSIRO Robot Responders Competition.

Create a robot for places too difficult or dangerous for humans to go, such as deep caves and lava tubes, marine environments, or outer space. Draw on science, technology and engineering concepts to imagine how your robot would move, sense its surroundings and complete its mission.

Fantastic prizes to be won

  • Two first prize winners (one from Years 5–6 and one from Years 7–9) will each receive a 3D printer valued at $600.
  • Ten runners-up will each receive an education voucher valued at $500.

Whether you're taking part at school, in a library, with a community group or at home, find inspiration with our range of free resources, including mission scenarios, an unplugged card game and an interactive online game to help inspire your entry. Use creativity, teamwork and critical thinking to design, test and refine your robot just like a real engineer.

Enter the CSIRO Robot Responders Competition this National Science Week and show us your best robot design!
