The 2026 Science Educators Colloquium is a vibrant evening celebration designed to inspire, connect, and empower educators during National Science Week. Embracing this year’s theme — “Seeds of Science: Nurturing Knowledge for All” — the event highlights the essential role educators play in cultivating curiosity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning across diverse communities.

This special event brings together passionate educators to explore how we can plant the seeds of curiosity and cultivate scientific understanding in every classroom. Guests will enjoy:

·         Special Guest Speakers – We are delighted to welcome special guest speakers from the The University of Queensland, who will share insights, research highlights, and practical ideas to enrich science teaching and learning.We are especially honoured to welcome Queensland Chief Scientist, Professor Kerrie Wilson, one of Australia's leading scientific voices and a passionate advocate for science, innovation, and environmental sustainability. Her keynote promises to be a highlight of the event, offering valuable insights for educators and science enthusiasts alike.

·         Snap Chat Speakers – Enjoy dynamic “Snap Chat” presentations delivered by Students from UQ’s Wonders of Science program. These fast-paced, engaging sessions are designed to spark ideas and provide classroom-ready inspiration.

·        Trade Tables - Explore a range of trade tables showcasing science products, resources, and ideas to energise your teaching practice. Discover tools and materials that can bring science to life for your students.

·        Guest Participation Quiz – An interactive and lively quiz woven into the evening, encouraging collaboration, laughter, and friendly competition among tables.

·          Raffle Prizes – Each guest will receive a lucky door ticket with exciting prizes awarded throughout the night, adding an extra layer of anticipation and celebration.

·         Table Service Dinner - All of this will be enjoyed over a delicious table service dinner, with a cash bar available. It’s the perfect setting to connect with colleagues, exchange ideas, and celebrate the power of science education.
