In celebration of National Science Week, join us as we discover the creative possibilities hidden within everyday natural materials. In this hands-on workshop, you will experiment with colour derived from tea, coffee, hibiscus, turmeric, charcoal and other accessible materials while learning how different substances behave when mixed with water and simple binders.

Rather than focusing solely on paint-making, we will combine experimentation with drawing and painting. You will create colour tests and sample studies before using your natural pigments to develop one or more finished botanical watercolour artworks to take home.

As part of the workshop, we will also demonstrate how charcoal, soil, coffee and sawdust can be incorporated to create textured surfaces and drawings - an introduction to further possibilities you may wish to continue exploring at home.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and experienced artists alike.
