Ready to become a scientist for a day? National Science Week 2026 is coming to Toodyay, and we have two epic events lined up. Mark your calendars for Saturday 15 August because the Toodyay Recreation Centre is turning into a massive science zone with two awesome events.

The first event is a hands-on STEM Day! Ever wanted to look through a real microscope or create a chemical reaction? This event is all about cool experiments. You will get to use awesome science equipment to examine hidden worlds up close, build working electrical circuits, and watch science happen right before your eyes. This session is specially made for local families and young people, guided by a local expert, who knows heaps of cool facts about biology, the science of living things.

The second event is the Stargazing Night, which starts at 6:30 PM out on the Recreation Centre Oval. When the sun goes down, the real adventure begins. We are heading out onto the oval for a massive stargazing night where space experts from the Perth Observatory are coming down with professional telescopes just for us. You will get to peer deep into space, look at awesome constellations, and learn secrets about the universe from real astronomy guides. Plus, we will have a free sausage sizzle cooking at the pavilion to keep everyone fed and warm. This space adventure is open to the entire community, so everyone is welcome to attend.

These events are completely free. Whether you want to explore science experiments inside or zoom into deep space outside, there is something for everyone. Grab your family, bring your curiosity, and come celebrate National Science Week 2026 with the Toodyay CRC.
