Ready to become a green-thumbed scientist? Welcome to Seeds of Science 2026!
This National Science Week, Goolwa Primary School invites students, families, and our amazing community to dig into the fascinating world of botany and sustainability. Together, we are launching a brand-new community garden that will become our very own living science lab!
Here is what you get to explore:
Super Seeds - Get hands-on with different seeds. Compare their shapes, sizes, and textures, and set up your own experiments to discover exactly what makes a seed sprout and grow.
First Nations Knowledge - Learn directly from local Ngarrindjeri Elders and native plant experts. Discover how our local mob has used native plants for thousands of years for food, medicine, and daily life. You'll even get to plant some native seeds yourself.
Art meets Science - Check out beautiful, creative artworks made entirely from native seeds and explore awesome interactive displays showing plant life cycles and how ecosystems work.
This week-long adventure is designed for everyone. No matter how you learn or what your background is, there is a place for you to explore, create, and grow with us. Come get your hands dirty and help us plant the seeds for a sustainable future.
