As part of Science Week, our school will host a vibrant and engaging Community Science Fair that celebrates curiosity, innovation and learning across the school community.
This event will bring together students from Science, Student Representative Council (SRC), Pastoral Care and Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs to create an interactive showcase of science in action. Students will design and present hands-on activities, demonstrations and exhibits that encourage visitors to explore scientific concepts through inquiry, creativity and problem-solving.
As a school with a diverse EALD (English as an Additional Language or Dialect) population, the Science Fair provides valuable opportunities for students to develop communication skills, collaborate with peers and engage with authentic audiences. Through participation, students will build confidence in explaining ideas, asking questions and sharing their learning in meaningful and accessible ways.
The event also promotes student leadership and community connection. SRC members will support the organisation and delivery of activities, VET students will contribute practical skills and event management experience, and Pastoral Care staff will help foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for all participants.
The Science Fair aims to inspire a love of science, celebrate student achievement and strengthen connections across the school community. By providing opportunities for students to learn, lead and collaborate, the event supports the development of scientific literacy, communication skills and positive relationships while showcasing the many talents of our students.
