Seeds Across the Pilbara will engage students from Port Hedland School of the Air, who live across the vast Pilbara region, in hands-on learning during Science Week. The project will explore how seeds grow and develop, encouraging curiosity, investigation and prediction.
Students will conduct simple experiments and observations at home, supported by their families and home tutors. Through these activities, they will investigate how seeds germinate and what plants need to grow.
Younger students will focus on observing the external features of plants and measuring growth using informal units. Older students will extend their learning by examining the structural features and behaviours of plants and recording changes over time.
