Rosebery District School Science Fair

  • - (AEST)
  • Rosebery District School
Morrisby Street, Rosebery, TAS 7470, Australia

On the Friday of National Science Week, Rosebery District School will proudly host our second annual Rosebery District Science Fair. This event provides students from Kindergarten to Year 10 with the opportunity to showcase their learning and scientific investigations to peers, families, and the wider community. Last year’s fair was small but successful, and this year we are excited to make it even bigger and better.

With a small school of less than 70 students, the Science Fair is a wonderful opportunity for cross-grade collaboration and connection. Our K–2 students will present a variety of hands-on projects, including handmade birdseed feeders, pressed flower and seed art exploring seed transformation, and mini “front lawns” growing grass. Students in Years 3–6 will showcase seed bombs, grass-head characters, and a transparent compost kit that demonstrates the cycle of growth and decay. Years 7–8 will investigate seed dispersal through origami seed structures and botanical watercolour artworks. Finally, our Years 9–10 students will conduct experiments on heat-dependent germination of Australian seeds and host microscope sessions for younger students.

The Science Fair promises to be a fun, engaging afternoon that brings together students, staff, and the community in celebration of science.
