For Science Week this year, Kingsford Smith School will host a whole‑school Science Fair showcasing the work of students from Preschool to Year 10. Each class will present the scientific learning they have undertaken throughout the year, celebrating curiosity, investigation, and hands‑on discovery.
In addition to the exhibition, students will have the opportunity to enter an individual science investigation competition, encouraging deeper inquiry and independent research.
Our high‑school STEM teams, The Quantum Mechanics and The STEMIES, will also lead the creation of an immersive, narrative‑driven experience inspired by the Svalbard Global Seed Vault. Primary students will step into a simulated “doomsday vault” environment to explore how nations deposit and retrieve seeds to safeguard biodiversity and rebuild after disaster. This interactive installation will bring global conservation science to life in an engaging and memorable way.
