Get ready for one of the most exciting events of the year — the Woodlupine Science Fair!
The Science Fair is a whole-school celebration of curiosity, creativity and hands-on learning, where students from Kindergarten to Year 6 come together to explore the amazing world of science and STEM. Throughout the event, students will have the opportunity to investigate, experiment, create, build and discover through a wide range of interactive activities and science displays designed by both students and staff.
This year’s Science Fair focuses on making science exciting, engaging and accessible for everyone. Instead of simply watching demonstrations, students will be encouraged to participate in hands-on investigations and challenges that bring scientific concepts to life in fun and memorable ways.
The audience can expect to see bubbling chemical reactions, lava lamps, balloon rocket launches, bubble experiments, engineering challenges, recycled creations, hands-on biology displays and exciting STEM activities that encourage problem-solving and teamwork. There will also be opportunities to test ideas, make predictions, ask questions and think like real scientists.
A major highlight of the event will be the Year 6 student-led science stalls. Our senior students will take on leadership roles by planning, organising and running their own interactive science activities for younger students and visitors. These stalls are designed to inspire curiosity while helping students build confidence, communication skills and leadership through science.
The Science Fair also celebrates creativity and sustainability. Students will showcase projects that encourage caring for the environment, reducing waste and thinking about real-world problems through a scientific lens. Many activities will incorporate recycled or reusable materials, showing students how science and innovation can help make a positive difference in the world.
Throughout the event, students will be encouraged to:
The Science Fair is more than just a fun event — it is an opportunity to inspire a love of science and encourage students to see themselves as future scientists, engineers, inventors, designers and problem-solvers.
At Woodlupine, we believe science learning should be active, meaningful and engaging. The Science Fair reflects our commitment to hands-on inquiry learning and provides students with opportunities to learn through exploration, experimentation and discovery.
We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, creativity and effort students have shown while preparing for this event and cannot wait to celebrate their learning with the wider school community.
We look forward to welcoming students, families and community members to a fantastic afternoon of science, discovery and fun!
