Our school will implement a whole-school biology program culminating in a cross-age planting event during National Science Week, aligned with the theme Seeds of Science: Nurturing Knowledge for All. Students will build understanding of plant lifecycles, growth and environmental conditions through explicit teaching, hands-on investigations and the use of resin-preserved plant specimens. These concrete models will support students to observe and explain each stage of plant development. During the planting event, students will work with cross-age buddies to apply their knowledge by planting seedlings in a shared garden space. Older students will support younger peers through explanation and modelling, strengthening both scientific understanding and collaboration.
