Could you build a farm that helps save the planet?
Bring your big ideas, busy hands and LEGO-building brain to Growing Ideas: LEGO Sustainable Farm Lab, where ordinary bricks become crops, creatures, water tanks, windmills, tractors, inventions and wild farmyard surprises.
This National Science Week, children will become inventors for the day as they design and build a farm of the future. But this is not just any farm. This farm needs to grow food, care for animals, save water, use clever energy and make room for nature.
Can you build a shelter to keep animals cool? A veggie patch that does not waste water? A machine to help with farm jobs? A bug hotel for helpful insects? A solar-powered chicken coop? A rainwater system? A paddock, dam, bridge, barn or mystery invention no one has ever seen before?
As the farm grows brick by brick, children will test ideas, solve problems, change their designs and discover how science and engineering can help real farms become more sustainable. There is no right or wrong way to build. The best ideas might be clever, colourful, weird, wobbly or completely unexpected.
This hands-on workshop is perfect for curious kids who like LEGO, animals, farms, building, inventing or asking “what if?” Families are welcome to join in and help the sustainable farm come to life.
Come along, grab some bricks and grow something brilliant.
Growing Ideas: LEGO Sustainable Farm Lab is supported by the Australian Government as part of National Science Week.
