This course teaches you, our scientists, technologists and engineers the essential skills and strategies to write articles for leading science journals such as the British journal Nature and the US journal Science. This comprehensive course/webinar will cover fundamental principles and “rules of the journal-writing game”, equipping participants with the confidence and savvy required to write accurately, clearly and simply.
You'll get hands-on practice preparing articles and illustrative material for multiple outlets, including in-house, local and international publications and online journals.
This three-hour course - delivered in two sessions - will prepare participants for approaching journals for the first time. We will discuss legal issues affecting researchers and academic publishing and you'll receive worked examples and reference materials throughout.
This course includes materials plus a one-month follow-up period where advice may be sought on any aspect of the course.
